Introduction
We will test email notifications on ASTPP.

 

Testing

Customer profile under Accounts > Customers > Customers has 2 fields for email addresses.

One is under Panel Access (here the email address can be unique value only).
Same email address can be set under one account/customer only.

Under Profile, there is another email address field called ‘Notification Email’.
Here double values are accepted.
Normally, notification emails must arrive to the email address which is set under Notification Email.


 

To test, I will credit my customer, and then will check to which address the notification has been sent.

Under Reports > Email History, I can see that the notification email has been set to elen@test.me only.

 

So email address, which is set under Notification Email is not used to send notifications.

I will change the settings under Configuration > Settings > Notifications to test more.

SMTP is enabled and set.
Push Notifications are enabled as well.
This field does not have any mention, but in ASTPP documentation, it has a note Enterprise (see below):

Testing again to see, if enabling and setting SMTP will send notification emails to the email address under Notification Email.

For my customer’s account Notifications is set to Yes.

 

And again the notification email is sent only to the email address which is set under Email.

Not clear why the field Notification Email exists, if the system does not send notifications to the email addresses set under the mentioned field.
If email set in that field can be used to send notifications, then not clear how to activate that option.
