70 VOIP offers are shown which are sorted by their monthly costs. The offers are grouped in four charts. The first chart shows the less expensive offers whose monthly cost is below 75 CHF. The second chart shows the VOIP offers costing between 75 CHF and 100 CHF per month. The third chart shows offers costing between 100 CHF and 200 CHF per month and the last chart shows the most expensive offers costing more than 200 CHF per month.

We compute and compare the monthly costs of all VOIP offers available in Switzerland. The offers and the data are obtained from www.vergleiche.ch on 2007-10-22.

The original data in a tabular form can be generated here [http://www.vergleiche.ch/voip/]. The default table is generated assuming 10 minutes of daily calls to landlines and 5 minutes to mobiles during normal tariff hours (without calls during weekends). The comparisons of www.vergleiche.ch do not consider the installation fees.

We made a similar computation of the monthly costs and we provide the comparison in a graphical form. The objective is to estimates the total of the average monthly invoice of a VOIP provider. The total includes the monthly subscription fee. The installation fee (if any) is also considered. We consider a contract of one year thus the installation fee is divided across 12 months. Our comparison therefore disfavors providers with high installation costs.

As for the communication usage, we consider about 19 minutes of mixed daily conversations to Swiss landlines and Swiss mobiles. During normal hours we have 18 minutes to landlines and 5 minutes to mobiles (per day). During weekend periods we have 9 minutes to landlines and 3.5 minutes to mobiles. The excel file can be downloaded and the daily usage pattern can be changed [xls].

We consider the call setup charges provided by www.vergleiche.ch. The providers charging connection cost are automatically disfavored. The same 3 minutes average call duration of www.vergleiche.ch is used.

Unfortunately the rounding of calls is not considered. The site www.vergleiche.ch does not provide such information on VOIP providers. The monthly bills of providers who do round the calls may therefore be higher than estimated in our computations. Calls to international destinations are not considered as well.

Ici, nous calculons et nous comparons les coûts mensuels de toutes les offres VOIP disponibles en Suisse. Les offres et les données sont obtenues le 22 octobre à partir de www.vergleiche.ch.

Les données initiales sous forme de tableau peuvent être générées ici [http://www.vergleiche.ch/voip/]. Le tableau par défaut est généré en supposant quotidiennement 10 minutes d'appels vers les fixes et 5 minutes vers les mobiles pendant les heures normal (sans des appels pendant les week-ends). La comparaison de www.vergleiche.ch ne considère pas les frais d'installation non plus.

Nous avons fait un calcul plus détaillé de coûts mensuels et nous fournissons ici la comparaison dans une forme graphique. L'objectif est d'estimer le montant de la facture mensuelle moyenne des fournisseurs VOIP. Ce montant comprend l'abonnement mensuel. Les frais d'installation (le cas échéant) sont également considérés. Nous considérons un contrat d'un an ainsi la taxe d'installation est divisée par 12 mois. Notre rapport donc défavorise les fournisseurs ayant les coûts d'installation élevés.

Quant à l'usage de la communication, nous considérons environ 19 minutes de conversations mixtes quotidiennes vers fixes et les mobiles suisses. Pendant les heures normales, nous avons 18 minutes vers les fixes et 5 minutes vers les mobiles (par jour). Pendant le week-end, nous avons 9 minutes vers les fixes et 3,5 minutes vers les téléphones mobiles (par jour). Le fichier Excel peut être téléchargé et le schéma d'utilisation quotidienne peut être modifié [xls].

Les coûts d’établissement d’appel sont pris en considération. Les fournisseurs facturant des coûts de connexion sont automatiquement défavorisés. La durée moyenne d'un appel est de 3 minutes.
