Since two weeks they try to get my incoming calls
working. They have failed up to know. In itself that would be bad, but what
is even worse is there total lack of feedback. I've phoned them on many
occasions and they always promise a callback, and that happened only once.
Outgoing call quality is fine, once incoming is working and I don't have to
deal with their techsupport (I have the feeling that they have only one *
expert with limited skills) I'll probably be a happy customer.
I am setting up an asterisk server/router for my mom to
get her voiped up.
I saw this google ad for approx $13 CAN a month for unlimited calling and a
DID + 1 month free service at netfone.ca. That sounded great for her as it
works out to be about $10/mo. During my inquiry they learned that I was going
to use an ASTERISK server and said that I'd had to subscribe to a business
plan for around $40/mo or buy their Linksys ATA Device. Really what
difference does that make? It sounds more like a scam to force people to buy
hardware from them.
I guess in the future I should just say I'm using a Grandstream or something.
Watch out.

Looking at a easy residential VOIP provider they look
like they have the best deal. They can also port my current number, this
seems to be a common draw back to the other companies. Anyone else using
them? Can you please provide feedback of their service?

It seems that some people are (intentionally?) confused
as to what belongs on this page. I have found some links to providers that
merely use VOIP as their backend, but do not provide SIP/IAX/etc.. or ATA
box.
These providers are just calling card providers, or provide local phone
number dial in, to access their services. EG:
