Today we use the following info from Customers.xls:
1) what equipment is ordered
usage:
1.1. sometimes customer service we need it when they are not sure
what customer have as equipment (not really important)
1.2. for stats
can have this info elsewhere?
1.3. yes (for customers subscribed after july 2007), if we search in
Thunderbird all orders containing 'ship' reply. But we do not have
statistics per type of equipment. If customer has changed the equipment,
there is no information nowhere (there is a 'ship' message in contracts@
for each shipment, but it is not written what we are shipping in case
when we exchange the equipment).
2) what is the price of the number
usage:
2.1. web page update (we need to know the price of each number)
2.2. history (to see later what price customer paid or should pay for
a given number)
can have this info elsewhere?
2.2. yes, in a separate excel file just including number and price
3) date of signature of contract
usage:
3.1. for calculation of cancellation date
can have this info elsewhere?
3.2. starting from july 2007 nearly all contracts could be found on
contracts@switzernet.com. 'Nearly' because the process of sending back
to customer the copy of his signed contract was not defined from the
very beginning. Older contracts are available in folders (paper, not
electronic form).
4) for printing label for boxes posted by post, there is a doc who read
Customers.xls
5) for printing the address on envelop for sending welcome letter for
orders without equipment, the doc file read Customers.xls
6) if customer send back equipment (ex. when he cancel contract) we
write about it in 'remark' column
Let's get rid of Customers.xls - we just need to define how we will
stock the information for the first 3 cases (last 3 are not important).
