This IP telephone is dedicated to the VOIP (for Voice over IP). You need to connect SPA942 to ADSL/Cable modem via Ethernet/RJ45 cable, and you can make and receive calls, even if your computer is switched-off. This phone also have a RJ45 port in order to connect it to a PC and can manage 4 IP lines
